Unified communications – technologies that allow messages received in one format to be retrieved through another – rebounded in 2011 with a 7.7 percent advance, boosted by increased spending by SMBs, the growing need to integrate smartphones and tablets into the enterprise communications system, by the introduction of new products, and by an expanding economy. TIA expects the unified communications market to total an estimated $2.1 billion in 2015, a 7.0 percent compound annual increase from $1.6 billion in 2011.
